Wargaming, where strategy comes to life

War games are (in addition to gaining experience) a means of finding solutions to complicated problems and improving the ability to deal with complex situations. This applies not only to the armed forces, but also to other state institutions and the private sector.

The VR Group's wargaming program is centered around the original Wargaming Table (WG Table) platform. It combines the capabilities of a plastic table, on which soldiers model terrain and solve tactical situations, with the ability to encompass dozens of narrowly focused war games for different types of players. Thanks to the "table", soldiers gain a multifunctional tool for simple planning, decision support through digital 2D and 3D maps, and, in particular, for teaching, training, and preparation through wargaming applications.

WG Table is a system consisting of three hardware components: a durable large-screen touch display, a convertible stand that allows for horizontal and vertical positioning, and a connected miniPC. However, the most important component is the software for the digital plastic table, which in the demo version consists of applications for operational-tactical drawing and support for free forms of wargaming, as well as the war games themselves, such as the simple experiential game SPECTER, which introduces the role of reconnaissance UAVs on today's battlefield, or the more complex "sandbox" game called CONTACT, which focuses on small unit commanders and allows scenarios to be played out according to any prepared map materials and the imagination of the instructors.

In the future, we plan to gradually add other proprietary wargaming applications to this platform, connect it to the VR Group WASP3 simulation system, add tools for creating custom war games, and also add a full-fledged 3D simulation editor for creating custom tactical situations using the acquired data. At the same time, however, we will continue to emphasize intuitive controls and ease of use.
