Frontend developer - contructive simulation

VR Group, a.s. is a Czech supplier of comprehensive simulation solutions for training defense and crisis management units with more than twenty years of history. The company was founded with a focus on the Czech market, but over time we began to supply other European countries, and today we supply simulators all over the world. We are a subsidiary of LOM Praha, a traditional Czech aviation industry company.
What skills we require and what you can expect
We develop user interfaces for simulators used to train air and ground military units. Our main product is an application consisting of a window with a map on which simulated entities controlled by users move. You will participate in the design and implementation of UI components and various smaller support applications/tools.
We are looking for people who are passionate about programming and for whom work will be their hobby. We are a small team in a large company.
What knowledge and skills you should have:
- advanced knowledge of TypeScript and React
Experience with the following is an advantage, but certainly not a prerequisite:
- map libraries such as OpenLayers or Leaflet
- HTML Canvas
- WebGL
- independence and proactivity – more important than length of experience
- a feel for UI design – primarily desktop
- English language skills – for reading documentation
